Learn techniques for preventing oral diseases, including oral hygiene instruction, dietary counseling, and tobacco cessation.
Understand the anatomy of the oral cavity, including teeth, gums, and supporting structures.
Develop the ability to educate patients on maintaining good oral health, including proper brushing and flossing techniques.
Learn about the prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases, including scaling and root planning.
Gain hands-on experience in performing dental cleanings, taking X-rays, administering local anesthesia, and more.
Understand the principles of dental radiology, including taking and developing X-rays, and interpreting radiographic images.
Learn about the medications used in dental hygiene, their effects, and how to administer them safely.
Upon completion of our Dental Hygiene Program, you will be prepared to pursue a variety of career opportunities in the dental field, including:
Work in dental offices, providing preventive oral care and patient education.
Promote oral health in community settings, such as schools, clinics, and public health departments.
Teach dental hygiene students in educational institutions.
Represent dental products and equipment, providing education and support to dental professionals.
Our program includes a 40-hour externship, providing you with hands-on experience in a real-world dental setting. This externship is a crucial part of your training and must be completed during the program. The hours of your externship will be determined by the office where you extern.
To enroll in our Dental Assistant Program, you must meet the following requirements:
Educational Background: A U.S. high school diploma, GED, or U.S. college transcripts/degree is required. If you do not have any of these or if your degree is from outside the United States, please contact your Admissions Associate at the school.
Vaccination Records: A copy of your shot records to include Hepatitis B, Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis (TDP), Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), and Varicella, or sign a Vaccination Declination waiver.
A Identification: A valid U.S. Government-Issued photo I.D. or passport.

Dress Code: Tattoos/piercings covered, hair tied up, well-groomed facial hair, short fingernails, and no excessive odors (perfume, cologne, smoke, body odor, etc.).
